On the morning of December 18th, 2017, Director Zhang Zuo of the Policy Research Office of Tsinghua University visited the Party Committee Policy Research Office of Xi’an Jiaotong University and exchanged views on the institutional setup, daily operation, work mode and service for the school center. Ma Xiaobin, director of the Party Committee Policy Research Office, and deputy directors Huang Zhongde, Suo Zhihai, Li Xiaoyue and others attended the forum.

At the forum, Director Ma Xiaobin, on behalf of the Policy Research Office, expressed warm welcome to the arrival of Director Zhang Zuo and his party. Ma Xiaobin first introduced the development history and personnel composition of the Policy Research Office of our school, and introduced the work of the Policy Research Office in the information collection, public opinion monitoring, special research, project release, editing and publishing of Xi'an Jiaotong University Development Research Report and the self-construction. Deputy Director Li Xiaoyue elaborated on the creation concept, innovation model, service function and construction blueprint of “Western China Science and Technology Innovation Port”, and introduced the “Smart School Town” characterized by “school district, park and community” combined together to strengthen the integration between the university and the society. Deputy Director Suo Zhihai introduced the development, construction achievements, construction ideas of school informationization, and personnel training, scientific research management, party building work, public opinion monitoring, policy consultation and poverty alleviation work through education informatization and refinement.

Director Zhang Zuo of THU Political Research Office introduced the history, personnel structure and the work of THU Policy Research Office. He believed that the Political Research Office, as an important institution for school policy consultation, should actively serve the work of the school center. To be more specific, the working mechanism, carrier, and method of work coordination, resource mobilization, and guiding role of the Policy Research Office are very worthy of consideration. At the forum, the two sides had communication and discussion on the working mechanism and work content of the Policy Research Office, the way to better serve the school’s key work and center work, and actively play their due role and influence.
